Finding PTSD in addition to Depression & Anquiety was created by clearwater
I have been diagnosed with Major Depression & anxiety by two psychiatrists a now a new mental health team thinks I have PTSD can anyone guide or help on what happens to ESA & DLA if they diagnose a different disability. I have searched and could not find out.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

You certainly need to inform the DWP in relation to your ESA if you have a new diagnosis, I can't find specific advice in relation to DLA, but I would be tempted to inform them as well. What I would do, assuming this is the case, is to also state the your care and mobility needs have not altered as a result of the new diagnosis.
If your new diagnosis opens up the opportunity to new treatment options which could lead to an improvement in your health or even a recovery, then you should be aware that the DWP may also be advised of this fact.

Neither DLA or ESA are specifically awarded based on a diagnosis, rather it is the effects of your condition(s) that are tested, so not having a diagnosis or having one that changes should not directly effect your benefits.I have been diagnosed with Major Depression & anxiety by two psychiatrists a now a new mental health team thinks I have PTSD can anyone guide or help on what happens to ESA & DLA if they diagnose a different disability. Thank you Gordon, I have not been diagnosed with it yet but they think I may have PTSD, the depression & anxiety still remain there.
I now know i need to me to notify the DWP for ESA & DLA of any additional diagnosis or changes.
Thanks Gordon.
