IB to ESA with WRAG

Since receiving this letter I have completed and sent to the DWP notification of appeal against the decision made by the Decision Maker, in that he/she has not fully understood the severity and seriousness of my illnesses and disabilities.
I would appreciate your thoughts/comments concerning these issues.
Many thanks.

I am afraid that attending WFIs and participating in Work Related Activity is a mandtory requirement for members of the WRAG, this is not removed by your lodging and appeal to be placed in the Support Group.I am 61years of age and have recently been transferred from IB to ESA WRAG. I have been receiving IB since 1991. From details of the letter received from DWP, concerning this transfer, they state that I will be subject to attend work-focused interviews and health related assessments. Do I really have to attend these events?

You can ask for your WFI to be deferred, held over the phone, or even in your own home, although the latter is very rare, ulimately it is up to your JC+ advisor to agree to these, but they do tend to take some account of a claimant appealing.
You need to be aware, that failing to attend without Good Cause can result in your benefit being sanctioned, so you should consider what you are going to do with care.
If you have not already done so, please have a look at our ESA Appeal guide, and I always think it is worth also looking at our ESA Claim guides to see whether you can present your case more successfully. See
