length of award was created by james
I have just been awarded esa support group. the medical was a lot better than all the negative feedback led me to believe. the doctor was very nice and appologetic for making me wait so long. the medical only lasted about 15minutes.

what my querry is how long is the award for? I have looked all through the paper work and can not find anything regarding length of award. I have seen in other posts that people know how long they expect to get the benefit for before being reacessed. Can you please tell me where i can find this information from?

many thanks

Congratulations on the award.

If you request your ESA85 medical report this should give you an idea from the prognosis, as to when you will be re-assessed. You can request this over the phone from the DWP office that has dealt with your claim, although we advise that you should follow it up in writing.

Hi p67,

As it seems that you attended a face to face assessment, it would be the ESA85 in your case.

The ESA85A is only used when no face to face takes place, and the assessment is carried out under "Paper Scrutiny" alone.

You can request the above over the phone by ringing the benefits office that deals with your ESA. We advise that you back up any such verbal request in writing. :

Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

If it may prudent to request any doumentaion used in coming to the decision, this could include an LT54, ESA113 or ESA72 Form .

For a list of potentially available ESA Forms, see : ESA Forms

Hi p67.

I have just noticed that you were not the original poster in this thread, who had a face to face assessment.

If you had a face to face, it is an ESA85, if you had a paper assessment, (No "Medical") it is an ESA85A.
