dealing with dwp

Activities that result in significant discomfort or exhaustion should be discounted, if this is the case for you, then you do not specifically need to mention them as examples of what you can do.Thanks gordon,
My situation is that for the majority of the each day I am unable to do the activity, but at brief times I could just about manage but it would cause further pain and exhaustion etc, but should I still mention it or leave it out?
Also I am thinking that I will send a copy of the online esa form to the dwp, but it prints out to be 20 pages long, and will only be held together with a few staples. Is it safe to send it this way or is there a risk of pages going missing?
With regard the form, they should be sufficient, but if you make sure that each page is number "x of y" then this will give an indication to anybody reading it that pages are missing.

Just a quick question regarding how long after the initial letter telling you of the changeover should it be before you receive the esa form.
As already stated, it has been 2wks, and my sister phoned them as I was too ill, to enquire about how long it will be. They said it could be at any time, weeks or months, and told me not to bother phoning regularly to check on it.
I only realised afterwards that she had phoned the tel number on the letter that was sent to me, (Jobcentreplus).
I find it strange that he did not tell me to call atos and enquire about it as you have stated. Should I still call atos or just wait?

Yes pjd,
It is ATOS that you should contact, as it is they who post out the ESA50 to you, not the DWP.
You can phone them on : 0113 230 9175.
It would also be advisable to E-Mail them at :

That way you will have written evidence that you have contacted them to raise your concerns.

Does contacting them speed up the time it takes them to send the form out?. I mean if the form was not going to be sent out for a another weeks or two, and I contact them today, would the process have then been speeded up?

Hi pjd,
One would "think" not, but I can't give a definitive answer.
