I was awarded indefinite high rates for both care and mobility DLA in 2009....and about a year ago because of the above I was migrated from IB to the support group.....
I am on Direct Payments from the council for my care....and I also get help from the ILF....
About 2 weeks ago I had a visit from a council worker...just to check my paperwork regarding my ongoing benefits....to then check my Housing benefit etc....and now....I have an appt been sent through to me....saying this compliance officer is going to be...visiting me...a week from today...I just wondered if...anyone could tell me more....about this sort of situation please

I will say that these visits are usually bad news, but many are resolved on the day as being a mis-understanding, I would advise that you have someone with you, if only to provide moral support.

Please note that both local authorities and the DWP employ Customer Compliance Officers.
Local authority CCO's only deal with such matters as Council Tax Benefit and Housing Benefit, whilst those employed by the DWP deal with all social security benefits.
Respectfully, from personal experience, I don't share Gordon's view that these visits are always bad news. Many DWP claimants are visited by a CCO and have their benefit increased. With DWP CCO visits these are usually carried out because a neighbour, friend <sic> etc etc has anonymously reported the claimant to the DWP's fraud line, of which over 85% prove to malicious with no further action being taken.
Hope this is of some reassurance.
