Please could you or anyone else answer my question.
I have recently recieved my brown envelope and informed i only scored 12 points. 3 short of the 15 to be in support group.
I phoned straight away as advised by my GP and requested an appeals form. The guy told me i would have to send in a sickness certificate. I said,My gp sent one in two weeks before my assessment (8 weeks ago). He said, that is now void !! i said But it covered me for 6 months? No he said it is now void.
Is this true? My gps certificate whch should of seen me covered for 6 months is now invalid?
Thanks

I am afraid that a Fit for Work Decisions (scoring less than 15 points), does effectively negate any existing Fit Note, so you will need your GP to issue a new one, they should receive a letter from the DWP to this effect shortly.Hi

It looks like you hit the quote and submit buttons at the same time as I hit the edit and submit buttons.

Over to you.

Hi T,
I don't know whether Gordon or myself are misinterpreting your query, but if that was your first "fit note" it can be for no more than 3 months duration, nor can the second fit note, only after the first 6 months can you submit a fit note for 6 months or more.
I have seen the scenario that you mention before, and that was why the fit note was invalid.
You need to gain clarity on this.
