ESA 50 while in the Support Group? was created by lurcher
My daughter completed the ESA50 form earlier this year and thanks to the advice given by B&W she was placed in the Support group without needing a medical with ATOS. She was transferred from income support to ESA shortly after.
ATOS have now sent another ESA50 to fill in to ensure she gets ESA benefit, surely this is not necessary, she has been receiving ESA payments since March '12. This continual drip drip of the dreaded brown envelopes is driving us to despair.
Do you think I should contact Jobcentreplus to query this?
Thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It sounds like your daughter was given a year between re-assessments (the form is sent 2-3 months in advance of this).
She needs to complete the new form to the same level of detail that she did on her original one, and if possible provide up to date evidence of her condition(s).
She also needs to take note of potential delays in the postal system due to Christmas and obviously the Bank Holidays to ensure that the form is returned by the date on the accompanying letter.

I am afraid that all ESA claimants, including those in the Support Group, will be re-assessed regularly. My daughter completed the ESA50 form earlier this year and thanks to the advice given by B&W she was placed in the Support group without needing a medical with ATOS. Hi L,
Just to add to Gordon's good advice, have you considered : Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire this time ?
Whilst referring to our : ESA Claims Guides , 3rd and 4th links down.
See also :
How long do I have to complete the ESA50?
ESA50 too big for the envelope
Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS
