work focused interview was created by Hackney2
I have appealed to move from WRAG to the Support group. Because of mental health issues I am becoming increasingly distressed about going. I saw the doctor to ask about seeing a psychologist for support in my appeal and was given a sick note and no referral, due to an 18 month wait. I hadn't seen this website when I did the form or ATOS interview and dont think I have helped myself. Is there a way to avoid the WFI before the appeal is reconsidered and the further procedures?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Hi H,
There is "Policy" that claimants who appeal WRAG to SG should not be referred to The Works Programme, as seen here :
Do I have to attend WFIs while I appeal?
However, it is only "Policy" and not legislation.
As you will see though, this does not exempt you from having to take part in WFI's.
My advice would be to contact the JCP adviser regarding any impending WFI's and inform them that you have appealed to gain entry to The SG, and of any limitations that would hinder your attendance of WFI's. They can defer the WFI's, carry them out over the phone, or even in your home.
However, these 3 options are purely at the discretion of The JCP Adviser, and you can not insist on any of them.
If you can gain the support of your G.P. in this matter that should help also.
