DLA TRIBUNAL WON BUT NOW HAVE TO ATTEND MEDICAL was created by lynette
Hi all finally got DLA awarded after three tribunals all through help of this website may I add
finally i thought someone believed me and listened the tribunal made a desicion that I could have High rate of mobility and low rate of care and was awarded back pay for just over a year. The award is until April 4 2013. A month ago I recieved a review form which I duly completed and then today had post stating I was to undergo an ATOS medical on 29th December (Saturday) and it would be from 10 until 4.
Is this normal if so why bother with a tribunal if they are going to do this and does this mean my monies can get stopped. I fought long and hard for over a year and through three tribunals.
Have phoned to change as this date not convenient so have to wait now for doctor to phone back!!!!
Hope someone can advise me!!!

The tribunal decision dates back to the date of the first, adverse, decision. The new form, and the medical assosciated with it, will relate to the renewal thatis due in April 2013.However, I have not heard of anyone being expected to attend a 6 hour medical before

Thanks for reply was worrying I would lose my money after fighting so hard for it.
Sorry its not a 6 hour medical but these are the times that the doctor will attend between hours of 10 and 4 to me this does not seem very professional and it also states that the doctor might be late so its basically an all day appointment which seems unfair

The reason why the Atos Health Care Professional cannot give a precise time is that some medical assessments take longer than others. I've sat in on medicals which have taken up to
nearly two hours. On the other hand, I've also been present where it's taken just 30 minutes or so.
I'm afraid this also happens in DLA Tribunals where each appellant in normal circumstances are allocated a 40 minutes slot, but often it runs into an hour or even longer.
Sadly, a sign of the times
