statement of reasons was created by john
Can anyone tell me if there is a limit on the length of time to issue a statement of reasons? I asked for a written statement of reasons on 7 Dec and have still not it. I have telephoned to ask again but have still not received it. I was told today that the email had been sent to the relevant department and that I could not have the telephone number to deal with them directly as it is not allowed. I then asked the person I was speaking to if she would ring through and ring me back , she said she couldn't do this as at least one hour had to elapse between the email and then the call. I explained that 2 weeks had passed which is considerably more than an hour but I was basically told there was nothing she could do about that. I then asked to speak to the manager and was told I couldn't because the manager would say the same thing. I said I still wanted to speak to the manager and the reply came back that the person I was speaking to was ending the call and put the phone down. Surely I am within my rights to speak to a manager?

Hi J,

If you request an escalation over the phone, a Team Leader is supposed to give you a call back within the hour.

You could also complain in writing : Complaining to the DWP

If you are not having any joy with your verbal request, you could make an official written request, see this topic for further information : www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=top...id=10&id=96407#96518
