Getting ESA50 completed on your behalf was created by davidkent
I have heard that if someone types up your esa50 as a verbatim transcript of what you say
because you cannot write, you have to tell DWP who typed it up, with their name & address &
tel. no. Is this true?

Secondly, I cannot write at all, nor type for more than a few minutes at a time. What is the best way to get someone to type up what I want to say when i get the esa50. I do not want to give such highly personal information to friends and I have no family. Is there any organisation who will help me in doing this?

PS. Further to earlier email, I found the esa50 sample here; I just need details of point system used.

David, you question regarding the ESA descriptors was answered on your other thead. Please will you keep your queries together on the same thread as that makes it easier for people to understand your situation and answer your questions correctly?

If anyone fills out the form for you they should certainly give their name (and any appropriate professional qualifications). I don't think there is any compulsion for them to give further details if they have just taken down your words verbatim.

Hi DK,

If by " the esa50 sample" you mean the PDF version as seen here :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Please be aware that if you (or someone else, on your behalf) were to start filling in this version, (ESA50 3/11) then there may be a new version of the ESA50 being used after 28/01/13, see :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=top...id=10&id=96492#96951

Someone else can fill in the ESA50 on your behalf, and they may fill it in in first or third person, as long as they note this in the box provided on the form, where they can also give reasons why they have done so, and provide their contact details.

With respect to our ESA Claims Guides, have a look at this thread from earlier, which should contain the links that you require :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=top...id=10&id=96510#97050

If you do not wish to get a friend or relative to fill it in for you, then the only other alternative would be to seek help from CAB or some other advice agency.

Have a look at : Where to get advice?

Failing that, try putting your town/postcode and Welfare Rights/Advice into your internet search engine.

The likelyhood is though, that even if you could acquire help from one of the above sources, that they would not start filling in the ESA50 until you actually received it through the post.

Sorry, I should have answered your question about how/where to get help! This FAQ is a good place to start

Where to get advice?

Somtimes there will be a national support group for your condition and they can provide help. Otherwise, you should do an internet search with the words 'welfare advice' and your location.
