Confused to what I should do should I wait for the outcome of my ESA appeal

Sorry Leesa, I did not realise that you had replied to the other topic, I thought you were the OP

ESA and DLA are different benefits with the only real overlap being mobility and to a lesser extent, continence.
If your ESA Appeal is at the end of this month, then to be honest, you will likely have a Decision of your ESA before you have been able to complete and return any DLA application.
I would start by going through the DLA guides, to see whether you actually have a chance of receiving an award and then go from there.
