Hi,

Thanks to your advice i won my appeal for ESA after being given 0 points at the Medical to 15 points and placed in the WRAG section at the Appeal. However, i have just received my first appointment at the Jobcentre and due to suffering with chronic back pain, i can only get there by taxi.

I phoned the Jobcentre to explain the situation and asked if i could claim help with the taxi fares, only to be rudely told "No, that is what your DLA is for" I receive low rate care and low rate mobility but have to use nearly all that to pay for taxis to get any shopping, hospital appointments and doctor appointments, so now having to attend these interviews every few weeks with no financial help will wipe me out :( Is what she said true or did i just get a rude woman?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi kgb,

Well done on winning your appeal !!! :)

Firstly, you may wish to read my post from earlier on :

With regards to attending WFI's, you can request that they are deferred, or carried out over the phone. In some cases they can even be carried out in your home.

However, you have no legal right to these three options, and they are purely at the discretion of the JCP Adviser.

If the person that you spoke to over the phone was rude, you may wish to try once more, you may get to speak to a more reasonable person.
