ESA and DLA and Remortgaging was created by lobsterpot
Hi,
I'm on DLA and ESA (CB) and was wondering whether I would have to notify one or both the departments regarding my Re-mortgaging?
It has been accepted (Re-mortgage) and have received the money last week.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't see that your remortgaging could be classed as a 'change of circumstances' for DWP.

Hi Mrs Hurtyback,
I was asking as I looked at a thread over the last couple of days which (I think) said that you would need to inform the DSS of this.
May be wrong and I cannot find the thread anymore, Oh well thanks for the input....
Cheers

Nobby
There was a thread about a change of address, which of course you are required to notify the DWP about.
The only circumstances where you would need to inform the DWP about a re-mortgage would be if you were receiving an Income Related benefit such as ESA(IR) and the re-mortgage increased you capital, even for a few days.
