When do we find out what the rates of benefits will be for the 2014/15 tax year? Is it something Ozzie will be announcing in the Autumn (December) Statement? Or has it already been fixed when they announced the 1% capped increase in out of work benefits?

As far as I know the 1% uplift also applies to next year to the same benefits as this year, the announcement is usually made In January but can be later, it has to be in place before 6 April.

The following were capped at a 1% rise

- Jobseeker’s allowance, employment and support allowance, income support, elements of housing benefit, maternity allowance.
- Sick pay, maternity pay, paternity pay, adoption pay.
- Couple and single parent elements of working tax credits and the child element of the child tax credit.
