IB to ESA quandary was created by Kat
Filled in claim form for ESA transfer from IB. Then had a meltdown and at that time couldn't face going ahead with the claim. Therefore on the very last page I wrote that I didn't want to claim ESA. Currently still getting IB but been told by lady at DWP to actually to claim ESA as near retirement age and the process is so long that it will be months before I get called for an assessment. She recommended I speak to Medical Centre to say I've changed my mind. BUT will that bring me to the top of the pile and will they take my word over the phone?

A note at the end of your ESA50 is probably not going to result in your claim being closed, although I cannot guarantee that, write to both ATOS and the DWP explaining that the comment was made during a moment of stress and that you want to continue with your transfer.

Kat, I doubt that your ESA50 has even been looked at yet, the way things are going!

Just a bit scared that contacting them will bring my claim to the top of the pile.

That is going to happen at some time anyway, if you do not contact ATOS and the DWP, they may action your request to close your claim.
