Search for charities and other organisations that represent disabled people, people with long-term health conditions and carers. You can contact organisations that are relevant to you and ask whether they have had the opportunity to make sure people they represent are heard in the Timms Review of PIP.
Why contact an organisation?
The more organisations that are warned about the issues with the PIP review the better. You could ask:
- whether they have been asked to take part in the Timms Review;
- if not, will they be making it clear to users of their service that they were not asked;
- whether they are concerned about possible changes to PIP;
- whether they will campaign publicly if proposed changes could leave people worse off;
- whether they would like you to share your own experience of claiming PIP and your concerns about possible changes; and
- if you are comfortable doing so, whether you could help as a case study for their campaigning, research or media work.
You do not have to share personal information or become a case study. Only give as much information as you feel comfortable sharing.
A–Z filter: choosing a letter limits the results to organisations beginning with that letter. Typing in the search box or choosing a new category will clear the letter automatically.
