PIP Home visit was created by UncleMort
At the beginning of the year I claimed for ESA because of depression and anxiety as well as an ailment which left me unable to walk without having to stop every few yards, leaving me with mobility issues. Then in June I slipped a disc in my back as well.
Around May time a CAB worker told me with my issues I should try and claim for PIP, she helped me fill in the form and sent it off for me.
Then In September I had to go for a Medical assessment with Capita, which said was a PIP assessment. I gave them all the paper etc and told them my issues and was told I should hear something in about 6 to 8 weeks.
Then the second week of October, I received a letter stating I had been awarded ESA Support Group (fantastic news).
This week I received a telephone call from Capita saying they want to do a home visit later this month to gather some more information, I said that I had already had a medical assessment and the gentleman replied its quite normal for them to do a home visit.
This has left me confused. Did Capita:
Use the medical assessment as an ESA or PIP assessment, is this home visit still part of the PIP process.
Either way is it anything to worry about, I suffer from bad anxiety and am getting worked up already.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

ESA and PIP are separate assessment processes, the DWP are not supposed to use the information from one benefit to make a Decision on the other.
Capita only do PIP assessments, so this new appointment will be in connection with your PIP claim. It is nothing to worry about, most PIP claimants have to have a face to face assessment.

I already had a face to face assessment with Capita in September where I had to go to a local Capita assessment centre. Now they want to have a home visit. If this is par for the course, then fine, I just find it strange they could not gather all the information they needed on the first occasion.

Sorry, I misread your original post.
It is unusual for claimants to need a second face to face assessment, I would contact Capita for an explanation, my guess is that the report from the first one was considered to be sub-standard prompting the need for another one, it would be in your interest to know so that you can ensure tha the correct report is submitted to the DWP.
