PIP Claim and home visit was created by milly332000
After waiting for 37 weeks since submitting my PIP claim, I have a home visit tomorrow and I am very very anxious about it. I've read as much as I can find on B&W (thankyou btw for such a wonderful resource) but has anyone please got some general advice that might help me get through it? I'd be very grateful.....

Don't do anything that you normally would not, so for example if you normally would not wash and dress then do not do so just because the assessor is coming.
Take your time answering, make sure you understand the question and if you need more time to answer then ask for it, remember if they ask you to do something that would cause you pain then you can refuse, but make sure they understand and note why you have refused.
There is a list of questions you are likely to be asked at the back of the PIP Claim guide

Best of luck

I totally agree about the "Do not do anything that will cause you pain"
I had a home visit in December and was asked to touch my toes while seated - I refused and stated that the letter telling me of the appointment said that I would not be asked to do anything that would cause me pain and followed up with the fact that sitting talking to them was causing me pain.
The visitor said thatwas what they wanted to hear.
The good news is that I received my letter on Christmas Eve stating that my claim for PIP had been successful.
Good luck
