HCP ?? Does mean all persons who wear a uniform? was created by raindaisy
ok , sorry slightly freaked out now as found the place for my PIP assessment is at a "therapy clinic" does mean that a therapist from this clinic is going to be the HCP to do my pip assessment?
so what exactly does HCP include? im concerned that the person assessing my ability to look after myself with chronic widespread FM and depression etc ...is a qualified anti ageing beauty therapist????
here what it says :
"We're currently able to offer Physiotherapy, Sports Massage, Foot Care Clinic, Pregnancy Massage, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage & Cosmetic, Anti-Ageing Treatments. Go to the Therapies page and catch up on the weekly blogs uploaded by our team. Gain a personal insight into the therapist and treatments available. We have a wide range of independent natural and beauty therapy practitioners who are fully qualified and experienced in their respective disciplines.
am I allowed to ask the qualification of the assessor or will that get their back up? its been bloody hard work getting the GP to get access to research etc.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

'Healthcare Professionals' include doctors, nurses, midwives, physiotherapists etc, they do not include 'beauty therapists'. It is most likely that ATOS/Capita have rented space in the building so that they can undertake the assessments, they will not be using their staff.
You are perfectly entitled to ask the professional qualification of whoever carries out your assessment. The practitioner should be used to this, it will not cause any problems.

well the day came , heart sank when I saw the snow, complete muscle freeze up! But I got there, my Daughter came with me and come in with me. I wanted her to take notes , but we did it afterwards in the car.
The HPC was a SRN . She was very nice , but admitted her typing skills were limited and therefore she was making notes using 2 fingers, but said my application form contained lots of info and so did GP.
im not holding my breath , but my daughter said i was totally honest even when it came to the toileting bit... i said the first person was my mother and the last person will be an undertaker. sorry but its true.
i did reiterate throughout the assessment these difficulties were not on a good day, bad day basis only..the majority it was more like a run of days into a weeks..but on a good day ..if i did normal activities ..i would pay for it ..with a prolonged period of pain fatigue flare up. my hands did my swell right up and turn almost black in there and i had to keep moving because my back felt like i had a door nailed to it. she did the usual pressure thing with on my hands , and arms, but i asked her not to on my legs as they were too painful, she was fine, she said "i have enough here , and i don't do anything to create more pain"
There were loads she did not ask me, and made statements like " so you sit down to dress..?" and you stand in the shower..? and you shop online? and do internet banking,,? do you use a mobile phone? ..my daughter said then..only to answer it and make calls, its a bog standard phone, no texting, ( which does my daughters head in) .
i had to slip my coat and cardigan off in front of her as the flare was moving up my arms..
im not holding my breath , i was encouraged by my gp to make the application . but it was not as bad as i thought, my only concern was the note taking, she did not type much at all just a few words. ??
