Hi Steve,
Awarded PIP in January 2015, from Sept 2014 to January 2018 by ATOS, it was a new claim & was a paper based assessment award as I was not called for a medical.
Letter states that....
"We'll contact you after 12th January 2017 to make sure you're receiving the right level of Personal Independence Payment"
and
"If your award of Personal Independence Payment has an end date, you'll be sent a letter around 14 weeks before your award ends. This letter will explain how to claim again if you want to."
Hope this helps
Regards
Bam

A cousin of mine (diagnosed 2 years ago with cancer, approx 4 yrs outcome life expectancy)
Has been moved from DLA to PIP,
Awarded PIP April 2015 for 2 years, (2017)
Enhanced Living, Standard Mobility.
DLA Award runs out August 2015.
The PIP Letter says he will be reviewed/looked at, re-assessed in March 2016, thereabouts.
(and yes he has asked for a mandatory reconsideration for the Mobility rate)
Personally i read the letter as implying there will be a full on review/assessment in March 2016.
Meaning either "they" will review it,, as in peruse the claim at their leisure with no further action! (which of course would be a rare thing to happen) and/Or they will expect a review form filled in or a F2F review assessment OR Both.

Hi All,
Many thanks to everyone who has replied to this topic. We are trying to find out more about what is actually supposed to happen in terms of reviewing awards. We'll put something in the newsletter if we ever become any the wiser.

My son recently moved from DLA to PIP.
Award notice for enhanced rate of both elements, from April 2015 until August 2017.
It states they will contact him in August 2016 to check he is receiving the right ammounts and will then contact 14weeks before end date to claim again.
Appears to be a standard letter by the soundof it!!!!!!!!!!!
