My wife was paying her PIP into my account untill she had set up an account of her own.
How does she contact PIP to tell them of the change of bank account details thanks. :)

Bizarrely you can do it over the phone, she just needs to call the office dealing with her claim, their number will be on any of the letters that she has received about her PIP claim. If she does then she should follow up the request with a confirmation letter to that office.

If she is unhappy phoning then just write to the office with the necessary information.

That's worrying! I work in temporary recruitment and we absolutely refuse to change bank details until it's requested on our form (proof of request), the person signs in our presence (we compare against other signatures held) and they supply photo proof (passport/driving licence etc).
All this is to ensure that its not being fraudulently changed and yet a government dept just accepts a random phone call!! Staggering incompetence!

Hi y-n4,

The DWP have a lot more powers to check with Banks and other Financial Institutions if fraud is suspected than a Temporary Recruitment Agency.

Personally, I would always choose to inform the DWP of such things by letter.
