DLA to PIP

In the newsletter it says there are delays in DLA to PIP transfers. Do you know
if this includes fixed term awards, or only lifetime awards?
Thank you

The delays are down to sheer weight of numbers, recruitment of assessors, backlog of appeals etc.

Thanks for your reply - I was wondering if any of the other mods will tell me if they
agree with Foss27, that the DWP are not making any distinction between indefinite awards
and lifetime awards in the current transfer process, where I know there are delays.
I am asking this because my DLA Fixed term award ends July 2016, so I would expect to
receive the Pip forms very soon; but if they are now just transferring anyone who is still on
DLA randomly, whether they are on fixed term or indefinite, might there be a chance that I
won't be contacted until a later time?
I would be so grateful for this, because I am transferring with mental health issues, and I really
can't face having to go for a PIP assessment. I have never been called for an ESA Assessment;
they just put me in the Support group with no face to face.
Sorry if this is long winded, and I don't mean to doubt Foss27's reply, I would just be grateful
for a second opinion.
Thank you

Hi v,
Information gleaned would lead me to believe that if you have a fixed term DLA award, you should receive your "Invitation" to claim PIP some 16-20 weeks before the end date of your fixed term DLA award.
Unless you live in N Ireland, in which case you would be reviewed for DLA once more.

Not sure if this helps: I am on an indefinite/lifetime award of DLA. Three days into the Oct 2015 rollout, I was selected to apply for PIP (supposedly random), and again (supposedly random) 3 days after my grandson turned 16, he was also invited.
I don't think there is a distinction, it is just the luck (or bad luck) of the draw...

Hi md,
I think V is querying whether there is a distinction between when DLA recipients with Indefinite/Lifetime awards will be invited to claim PIP and those DLA recipients with "Fixed Term" DLA awards !
