I have a particular complication that I need your advise on please. I suffer Bipolar Disorder,PTSD,and OCD.
Due to the extremely demanding nature of my care needs, I have a care plan where I reside at two addresses, 4 days at one, 3 days at the other and so on. This is because my carers (family) are unable to cope with my needs for a full week, especially given my Bipolar severe manic lows and resulting self-harming.
My medical team put the care plan together, Psychiatrist, Psychologist and CPN.
My problem is this, the DWP have my home address for the purpose of my benefits (full rate PIP) however, I rarely stay there now because of my care plan I now stay at 2 of my families homes, who share my care needs that are extensive, I self-harm and have attempted suicide on 3 occasions, hence my medical team putting forward this care plan as normally I live on my own.
Do I need to advise the DWP, I am terrified that they will take my benefits off me because I am being cared for by family on the advise of my medical team due to my considerable vulnerability when on my own.
I had the option of agreeing to this care plan, or my CPN who I trust with my life said that they may have to consider putting me on a section.
Please can you advise. Thank you very much.

Hi Cfm,
You are supposed to supply the address of your main place of residence to DWP for benefit purposes.
This is generally the address where you are on the electoral register, pay rent/mortgage, utility bills, council tax, etc etc.
PIP is awarded for limitations and disabilities that you suffer, not due to any care that you are receiving from family and friends to help with them.
If you are still unsure, you should consult you CPN, or you could try : MIND
Sorry, but I can't really offer any advice other than that above !
