There were other bits to which I started to say it is on my form as I started to think nothing had been read beforehand.
Is this normal or a way of trying to catch you out?
I was expecting more of a “you say on your form” and then explain type of approach.

Things like did I know what caused my knee pain, I then explained it had started after a Road Traffic accident I`d had to which the assessor looked and said “oh you had an accident?”, all this was on my PIP claim form. She then appeared to type this down and asked me other things linked to it which were also on my form.

Hi S,
As you will see in this extract from the bottom of Page 32 top of Page 33 of the latest version of : The PIP Assessment Guide which was updated on 28th July 2015.
"Before starting the consultation
2.6.6. Before starting the consultation, the HP should read the claimant questionnaire and all other evidence on file which may include, but may not be limited to :
• Supporting information supplied by the claimant
• Any further medical or other evidence supplied by the claimant
• Information from the claimant's GP or other relevant supporting professional gathered by the provided"
etc, etc !
The Assessor is "supposed" to read your PIP 2, etc before your assessment starts.
However, in reality, it is clear that they do not always do so.
Of course, it could be the case that they had, and were simply trying to gain verbal confirmation of the facts from you.
