Ha Ha ha ! Love it.....the optimist bit, not the struggle you've had.

Having woken today I think maybe you are right. I'm experiencing increased pain and fatigue just from looking into this yesterday. Maybe I need to be a realist and accept my limitations ! I do get these short lived bouts of positivity about twice a year.........but the reality is much harder, and reality sucks !

I will speak to my go, she is fab and has known me for years and is very supportive.

Thanks for taking time to reply, I guess until I start seeing evidence that those who take this route are well supported and happy, I'll leave it........at least until my next shot of hopeless optimism !

Hi

Believe me when I say I know how much it sucks!!!!!

I tried every lead I could find and from anyone who had tried before me.
The system just does not want people taking control of their own lives.
It seems we delegate all responsibility for our lives when we rely on the benefits system.
IMO its an incredible waste of talent and ambition, why should disabled people give up all hope???

I was just going to ask a question about being in the Support group and doing some permitted work.
Have just seen advertised medical secretarial work, 10 hrs per week. I have not worked now for five years and am medically retired, but did wonder whether I could do this. I could spread it out over the week, do it in little bits, if you know what I mean. I am sure it would be good for my well being and my finances.
Problem is I am so worried about rocking the boat. If I tried to do it and failed I need the reassurance that the DWP is there to support me, not there to dump me!!

Hi
As you can read on this thread its unlikely the DWP will support you, more likely they will reassess you as fit to work,

It might be worth enquiring if the job could be done from home if it is admin,

:woohoo:

Hi all

Good to read your discussions. It reaffirms for me that, I’m doing the right thing in staying away from voluntary work, even though I feel that I’m ready for a little, again, after nearly ten years away.

I just feel that since Welfare Reform, the Secretary of State, via the DWP, will find any excuse not to pay benefits. I a liken it now to, trying to make a claim on an Insurance Policy…………….their going to go through with a fine toothcomb to find a reason not to pay!!!!!!!!!

Thank heavens for B&W which allows me not to feel as isolated as I really am.

Kind regards

P.
