DLA Ending, Still on First Part of PIP Process

My wife is on DLA, which runs out in early March. She had the letter re. applying for PIP in November last year, and did the PIP1 phone call the same month.
As yet, we had nothing else. No completed PIP1 to sign and return, no communications at all. I'm not surprised by that, as I know how slow the process can be.
My wife's Blue Badge and bus pass are due for renewal on the same day her DLA runs out (and when, normally, we'd have the letter for the next DLA period.
My question is, if the PIP process is still ongoing when the DLA runs out, what should happen? An extension of DLA? Loss of DLA and nothing until PIP completes? Something else?
Thanks.

Hi D,
Welcome to Benefits and Work Forum

They no longer send you copy of The PIP 1 which you fill in over the phone !!
However, I would have expected you to have received The PIP 2 Form by now !
You should contact The PIP Helpline for an update :
Telephone: 0345 850 3322
Textphone: 0345 601 6677
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
On the premise that your wife complies with all the deadline date requirements in the PIP transfer process, her current DLA payments should continue until 4 weeks after the date of the fresh PIP decision whatever that PIP decision may be, and even if the PIP decision ends up being made after the end date of her current fixed term DLA award !
I really would contact PIP for an update !!
You can request a renewal of her Blue Badge early, as even under normal circumstances, it can take up to 8-10 weeks !!
Apply for or renew a Blue Badge

We've contacted the PIP Helpline. Turns out they had somehow altered our address (to a number 3 rather than 2!). No idea how, when they had our correct address to send out the initial PIP transfer letter.
Confusingly it seems that my wife's information has been passed straight to ATOS, without a PIP2, who are intending to generate an appointment for my wife to assess her, in the absence of a PIP2, and without (it seems) contacting anyone involved with her care (just based on DLA information).
Of course, on checking, we've found that they gave the wrong address to ATOS as well, though fortunately they hadn't generated an interview date yet.
What options do we have?
Thanks.

You can still produce your own PIP2, the form is not available for download (there is one with "not to be used" stamped all over it), but you could still produce a letter in basically the same format, the PIP Claim guide has all of the relevant questions for you.
If you do then send a copy to ATOS as soon as possible and another to the DWP office dealing with your claim marked for the Decision Maker, you should include a covering letter explaining why you have done this. Finally, take a copy to the assessment and ask the assessor to read it before the continue with the interview.
