Should I claim for change in circumstances was created by Paula
Hi, I'm on DLA till 2019, middle rate care and low rate mobility, I have an underactive thyroid, depression/anxiety and left vocal cord paralysis, in February I was diagnosed with severe copd, really not sure whether to make the call to change to pip or wait till I get called, any advice, thanks

The DWP are not that bothered if a claimant does not report a deteriorated condition.
PIP has a fundamentally different approach to assessment from DLA, so you really need to go through the PIP Claim guide to see what kind of award you might expect to receive, I would recommend that you mark yourself very hard as members tend to over estimate the points that they might score.
If you feel that you might receive a higher award under PIP then you should consider a transfer, just be aware that once you start the process, you cannot back out of it.

Thankyou, and yes I have been through all the guides and find them really helpful, will definitely use them, I have marked myself harshly too, it's just that I already have breathing problems, airway obstruction due to my vocal cord paralysis, but that wasn't even on the DLA claim at the time, just speech problems, now having a severe copd diagnosis on top of that just adds to my breathing being really bad, my depression and anxiety has doubled due to my breathing problems, I have a copy of the letter sent to my GP from the consultant in the respiratory clinic, he has stated I can walk 20m but maximum is 50m.
