Pip reconsideration was created by Hjane
I recieved my pip decision yesterday which scored no points for anything . ! But my biggest concern after reading it was had they confused me with someone else as supposedly my communication was fluent and articulate ...didn't have any problem with my speech ..ironic as I had a speech attack during the assessors visit so the meeting was finished as I lost my speech .
I phoned yesterday to lodge my reconsideration and spoke to a man who said yes it was noted and I would hear in due course . Today I realised I hadn't asked for a copy of the initial assessors notes so phoned again and spoke to a different person who was very helpful but couldn't find any reconsideration record , could see I had called but nothing was actioned . She went on to fill out my difference of opinion including my speech attack ...shocked that it wasn't noted anywhere on the assessment . So double check your reconsideration has been logged . I have followed it up with a letter !

I am afraid it is not uncommon for claimants to struggle recognise the person being described in the Decision Letter or assessment report, providing the name and National Insurance Number are correct you will have to assume that it is your report.

We recommend requesting the MR in writing, as you have found out, doing so over the phone is not always successful.

Although it should be possible to request the assessment report over the phone we again recommend following up the request in writing..

Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;

Once you have the report I would suggest you go through your PIP2, the assessment report and our PIP Claim guide to make sure that you have explained your limitation s sufficiently to score points.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
