ESA reassessment was created by digitalrace
Hello
On 9.2.2016 I rang DWP and was given 31.8.2016 as my next reassessment date for ESA. On 4.8.2016 I phoned DWP to confirm 31.8.2016 as my next reassessment date. I wish I hadn't bothered. I had two frustrating and confusing phone conversations with two different people and was told that they cannot tell me when my next reassessment date will be. I was advised that the date given 'might be' when they look at my claim again and 'might' send me an ESA50 or not! I was repeatedly told not to worry about it and I should just wait for the form to arrive. I was also told to call Maximus who told me they don't give reassessment dates.
Making these calls was extremely stressful as is the preparation and anticipation of an assessment at the end of August. Now I am not sure whats going to happen and the uncertainty is also very stressful
I will assume my reassessment will be on 31.8.2016 and will prepare for that date.
Do you think it is worth phoning back and asking to speak to a supervisor or should I write to them and request my next reassessment date? Also If I do not receive a ESA50 around 31st do you know if DWP would know if one had been sent out to me ( a form has gone astray in the past and my benefits were unexpectedly stopped).
Kind regards

Reassessment dates for ESA are not set in stone and it is possible for the DWP to start the process early or late.

The planned date for your reassessment is definitely on your computer record and there really should be no issue with you being told what it is,.

I would wait until the end of August and see what happens.

The process is that the DWP send your file to Maximus and it is them who send the ESA50, so you can always check back with them to see if one has been issued.

The important thing is that you ESA remains in payment at the current rate until a new Decision is made, so not having a reassessment is potentially to your advantage.
