Health assessment under Universal Credit was created by fei su
Greetings to B&W and the forum (and everybody who's on the same boat):
I have been off sick since last year following a violent assault by a customer at work. I was advised to apply for ESA, but was put on UC instead (I live in London). Did it in Apr 2016, received payment end of May, but was put on intensive work search group. (and I have been dissmissed by my employer soon after my SSP ran out) I was given a 'Limited Capability for work questionnaire to assess my conditions last week, and I am wondering if the questionnaire and the way of assessment etc. including the medical are the same as the one for ESA as outlined in the guides?
I have read the guides on ESA, it's very detailed and containes very valuable advice and tips so that people in need won't be ripped off by the government's 'wealfare BUSSINESS'! I am dreadful for more medical assessment from DWP, as I had two for my Industrial Injury Disablement Benefit already, the last one was quite bad and I had my benefit cut by 40%, but it was made up by UC as the IIDB was part of my income.
However, most of the material on the forum deal with the 'old' system, I would like to ask also if there are some tips for people going through it under UC? As I did not use an ESA forms at all (never mind about other benefits)?
Many thanks in advance, and wish everybody usng the forum all the best.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I am unsure whether your real name is showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
There are still only a few areas that are 'live' for UC for all claimants. In addition, contributory ESA will still stand alone even once UC is live in all areas. So, the majority of our members are going through the ESA process rather than UC.
However, the UC50 is the same as the ESA50, so all information in the ESA guide is relevant to your claim.
ESA claims and appeals
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your UC without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too
