Also if we do an appeal, can we separate Daily living from Mobility as we are relatively happy with Daily Living decision, but the Mobility side of the PIP claim is way below the real world of getting about.
Also, can you appeal the "Justification for review period choice" as the decision maker has contradicted themselves, and suggested a three year review when we were awarded a four year review.

SOH = Social & occupational History
MSE = Mental State Examination
IOS = Don't know but IO is informal observations
MSK = Musculoskeletal examination

Sorry

I'm afraid that at both MR and appeal those reviewing your claim can extend what they are looking at to both components if the believe it to be reasonable.
It's possible to challenge the award length, if you are saying that the DM did not agree with the assessors recommendation then you will likely have more success than if you disagree with the assessor in the first place, in this case you will need to provide evidence to support a longer term.

If we go to mandatory Reconsideration, can we just challenge the Mobility part or do they still look at Daily Living as well as the mobility.
On page 25 of our PA 4 form the very last question the the assessor / decision maker has written:-
The claimant has a mental intellectual or cognitive impairment and may need additional support to comply with future claim processes.
Yes / No and they have ticked NO
On this PIP and all her forms, I have always had to support my wife's claim both by form filling and attending all interviews either at home or at ATOS offices. This time around she had a mental meltdown a few days before the home assessment requiring Paramedic attendance, because of an over dose. We even showed the so called psychiatric nurse assessor the ambulance attendance yellow copy sheet stating this and overwhelming mental stress.
Your advice and help on the forum is second to none and is the only thing that keeps some people going.
Many thanks.

You can request a review of the just the Mobility component but there is nothing to stop the DWP looking at the Daily Living part as well, a reduction In point is unlikely but it does happen and you need to consider how secure your wife's points are.
Forgive me, the overdose is good evidence and I would send a copy of the documents for the ambulance attending just before the assessment, but don't get side tracked, it shows a general problem, you need tie it to the PIP activities to score points.
