PIP is a walking test.

ESA looks at the claimants mobility, in addition to the distance they can walk, their ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distance is also considered, your husband does not need to use or even own a wheelchair for this to be considered, so you will also have to show that he cannot propel a wheelchair more than 50m for him to be placed in the SG.

Thanks for your reply.
He does not use a wheel chair , but can not walk more than 5-6 meters . The PIP assessor has put this down on his medical , and he has been awarded full points. Thanks.

As I said, his not using a wheelchair will not stop them assessing his being able to use one.
