PIP, how do Atos decide who assesses.

i have just read the latest (Sep.2016) Pip assessment Guide whichdoes not mention this requirement.
Being a bit of a cynic. The requirement in a WCA is probably because there would be bad press if a WCA sent a entailment back to work and they had a Stroke without a qualified HCP having carried out WCA
As there is no "made to WORK when evidence shows they may have a Stroke" implication for PIP

I think you have misunderstood the question that was asked, this topic has nothing to do with DLA assessment reports being used for PIP

To defend Micksville , i thought you use of Documentation included the Claimants record held by DWP on first reading but then realised you were talking about the Regulations and "Official" guidelines

Are there any conditions that necessitate assessment by a doctor,? how would i find out.? I have multiple conditions including two neurological conditions and when I had my PIP assessment this week by a nurse I felt he just didnt understand the neurological conditions., nor the tests, or surgeries I had had for them. Several years ago when I was assessed for ESA I was told by Atos I would need to be assessed by a doctor because of my multiple conditions, although they didnt stipulate which onces neccessitated a doctor assessing. I was assessed by a doctor back then and he did understand (I was awarded ESA which unfortunately because it was Wrag, Contributions based ended after a year when the government started its welfare reforms). Thank you in advance.
There are certainly guidelines that both ATOS and Capita use to make a decision on this, there is a copy of these in the public domain for ESA, although it predates Maximus doing the assessments, but I've not seen a copy for PIP and we do know that the documentation for DLA is not used for PIP assessments.
The problems is both Assessment Providers appear to regularly ignore the guidance and the claimant has no rights to demand a doctor over a nurse on the day.

Please advise me where these ATOS/Capita guidelines can be found. Thank you

As I explained in my post, I have not seen any documents containing this information for PIP, however, even if it was available, it would not be something that a claimant could make use of as the requirement is not part of the PIP legislation.

However I have a friend, also a polio survivor, who has just been given zero points in an ESA assessment, her assessor was a physiotherapist. Our on-going condition of Post Polio Syndrome is a neurological condition, hardly understood by the medical profession at large, never mind physiotherapists! Can my friend insist on a doctor?
