PIP, how do Atos decide who assesses.

Several years ago when I was assessed for ESA I was told by Atos I would need to be assessed by a doctor because of my multiple conditions, although they didnt stipulate which onces neccessitated a doctor assessing. I was assessed by a doctor back then and he did understand (I was awarded ESA which unfortunately because it was Wrag, Contributions based ended after a year when the government started its welfare reforms).
