Hi I have written here before on behalf of my son who has successfully transferred from DLA to PIP quite some time ago now. Your website was an enormous help when it came to making sure everything was exactly completed and as anyone knows filling one of these forms out is very daunting and stressful So thank you for everything you all do for all of us!

I wonder if you can answer a question regarding my sister in law, who had her PIP assessment last week. I am very worried that on meeting the 'Health Professional' assessing her she informed my sister in law that she had not received any paperwork relating to her case. She then proceeded to suggest because my sister in law had cancelled one appointment that must be the reason the paper work had been filed under that date.?????? This all seems somewhat bizarre and irregular to me. What is the point filling in a lengthy form and getting a supporting letter from her psychiatric nurse if none of this was made available to the person doing the assessment?!!! The assessment went ahead without. I was really surprised! Is this permitted? My sister in law has severe mental health problems along with many physical ones some as a direct result of the mental health. The HP was an OT which also surprised me.Perhaps I should not finding anything surprising when it comes to all this ;)

my sister in laws daughter helped her write much of her form and went to the assessment with her. The HP stopped her answering the questions on behalf of her mother except to help when her mother forgot a date or some other bit of information. I had told her about your website and I know she found it very very useful when filling in the PIP form however I worry that she did not read other peoples experiences and did not take it on board what a mine field a F2F can be.

I have been trying to speak to her to suggest she at least sends a copy of her form and letter from her psychiatric nurse to the DWP so at least when they get the HPs response to the assessment they have those too. What would you suggest please. I am concerned for her and do not think she will cope with going through an appeal if this is what should happen she has tried to kill herself several times over the years. Any help would be useful. Thank you.

You can argue that it undermines the report that the assessors produces, but I would not say, based on what you have posted, that any rules had been broken.

If they believe that her PIP2 and evidence is missing, then it would be a good idea to send it to the DWP office dealing with the claim, marked for the attention of the Decision Maker, with a covering letter explaining why it is being sent.

Sending Documents to the DWP or Maximus, ATOS or Capita
