Borderline Personality Disorder was created by weasley
I have suffered manic depression for over 45 years now, and in 2006 it was renamed Bipolar Disorder.
Having moved to a new location and under a new mental health service, I have now been diagnosed as not a Bipolar Sufferer, but Borderline Personality Disorder.
I had a second opinion as I felt after 45 years, how could the other Psychiatrist's get it so wrong.
I have now been discharged from mental health services and placed under the care of my GP, no CPN, or back up anymore.
I asked the question to the Psychiatrist during the second opinion, "are we really talking about a postcode lottery as to who gets mental health funding and who doesn't" The question was not disagreed with.
Has anyone else been through this? I am still receiving the same drug treatment (extensive) , does the new diagnosis effect my PIP?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I assume that your limitations in regard the PIP activities have not changed because of this new diagnosis?
I can't tell you not to contact the DWP about the new diagnosis, but if the reasons that you receive an award of PIP have not changed then there should be no issue with the new diagnosis.
