Transfer to pip from DLA was created by Belinda Matthews
I have just started the process of transferring to PIP from DLA. The issue I have is I dont have medical evidence as to whats wrong with me, for me this causes a huge amout of stress.
I have scoliosis diagnosed at the age of 14, surgery at the age of 16 to correct with Harrington rods. I always suffered with a manageable level of pain but 3-4 years ago the pain really started to affect my life to the point where I have severe pain at all times.
I have been referred to a orthopaedic specialist but the waiting list is 2 years 4 months so I should receive an appointment sometime next year, in the meantime im living on medication.
How do I prove whats wrong with me when all my doctor seems to care about is filling me full of pain killers.
At present I get low rate care and high motability I am also in the support group of ESA.
Does anyone have any advice?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

You can only provide what you have, that means that you will have to work harder when you complete the PIP2 to explain the problems you have, but it doesn't mean that all is lost. Many claimants lack medical evidence and are still successful.
It seems to me that you do have three important pieces of evidence; your original diagnosis of Scoliosis, details of the operation and the request for referral to a Specialist. These show that you had a severe problem and that despite the surgery, your problems persist.
So, you are not required to complete the PIP activities pain free but any pain that limits your ability to complete them should be taken into account, Specifically for Moving Around, if can walk even if you are in severe pain then you can argue that the distance should be discounted, as it would not be to a necessary standard.
Activities must be done "reliably" and "on the majority of days" not to score points.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Unfortunately, it is not about proving whats wrong with you, the DWP don't care. It is about proving how your medical conditions impact on ability to perfom the activities and what help, aid or assistance you need to complete the activity to the best possible standard.
