Please help.
Incapacity Benefit to ESA March 2013 - straight to Support Group via paper assessment (used Members Only Guide.)
ESA renewal March 2016 (used Members Only Guide) - heard nothing for ONE YEAR until March 2017]: request to attend Maximus Assessment!! despite again enclosing with ESA Form full details and evidence, eg recent doctor's/psychiatrist's letters etc. and strong evidence enclosed for consideration for Support Group due to Substantial Risk Regulations.
What is your advice please?
Currently getting Further Medical Evidence from doctor confirming that a face to face assessment would be detrimental to health condition to send to Maximus (copy to DWP).
And can the DWP be requested to name the "qualified" healthcare professional who reviewed the ESA Form and evidence provided, to know who was responsible for deciding whether a face to face meeting is necessary, insisting that the "qualified" healthcare professional provides in writing the medical reasons why they feel a face to face meeting is essential? Can the DWP be informed that the claimant may wish to independently check with the GMC that the individual is qualified and that the medical reasons are consistent with medical best practice?
Please help, thanks in advance.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The decision to carry out a paper assessment is down to Maximus, their primary concern is having sufficient information available to write the report without seeing but they must also take into account the risk to the complaint if required to attend.
I'm afraid you won't get the information you include in your post, they are simply under no obligation to provide it.
You mention that you are speaking to your GP about a letter, would a reasonable compromise be a home assessment? If it would then you need your GP to explain why you cannot attend at their offices, if you cannot attend at all, then you need to try and get some idea of what information is need by Maximus to allow this to happen.
If the GP letter doesn't work then you can try contacting your MP for assistance.
