I am waiting for my date for my PIP appeal date. Someone told me the other day that even at this late stage, I may not have to go to the hearing (I said I would as an explanation is easier than writing things down) and can have an outcome without attending. Does anyone know if this is correct and if so what can I do if I don't agree? Sorry to ask but this is sending my head in a spin. Thank you in advance.

You can at any time prior to the hearing opt for a Paper hearing that you do not need to attend. If you do this then you need to ensure that your submission and any 9other paperwork that you want the panel to review is with the Tribunal Service as you will not be notified of a hearing.
I have to warn you that the success rate of a Paper hearing is about a 1/4 of that for a hearing you attend, the panel having the opportunity to answer you about your problems can make a big difference to your appeal being successful.
