Mandatory reconsideration evidence question

Hello

I wonder if you can help me. My husband has Autism spectrum disorder and I am his appointee. We are going through the mandatory reconsideration process at the moment. I sent everything in last week. Part of the evidence that I sent in are emails between myself and a doctor at the autism clinic and between myself and the occupational therapist at the autism clinic who specialises in sensory processing issues as a result of autism. I sent in the entire conversation exchange including everything I said and everything the specialists said. I didn't include anything in the emails that I hadn't already explained in the pip2 form and said at the face to face assessment aswel. I think the assessor misunderstood his problems as she seemed to think his problems are related to memory or concentration but they are due to a sensory impairment to temperature among other issues. So i emailed the autism clinic to ask them what level of care they thought I should provide (I didn't put any leading questions in. I made sure I just said the same things i had put on the pip2 form and explained at the assessment) and the response from the doctor was to supervise him in the kitchen as he may badly burn himself as he cannot judge the heat of items and she said the occupational therapist would be better placed to advise me on the rest of his issues. The occupational therapist then advised me to remind him to eat regular meals as he doesn't have hunger signals, make sure his food isnt too hot to eat to prevent him burning his mouth, assist him in the shower to make sure he doesn't burn himself again and to prompt him to choose appropriate clothes for the weather.

Will they accept this as evidence as it is in an email exchange as opposed to a letter.

Many thanks
Katie

I don't think that the format will be a problem but the DM may not realise what the content is, they are not medically trained and you would need them to send the email conversation back to the assessor for further medical opinion.

Hi Gordon
Thank you very much for your response. Is this something the DM will do automatically?

Many thanks

No, they need to think that it would potentially affect the medical advice that was given. It may come down to how you explained the "conversation" in any accompanying letter.
