Give me strength! was created by Helga
Morning,
Story goes: Higher Care & Mobility DLA 30+ years. Chronic conditions unstable and severe.
Pip Assessment: awarded standard care, no mobility awarded, vehicle due to be removed in a few months.
Mandatory Reconsideration: Huge folder of additional evidence sent. Decision returned as the same (standard care, no mobility).
No I understand that I have to organise a tribunal to formally disagree with this decision. I'm way beyond my last bit of strength and of course this is all taking its toll health-wise.
I am absolutely petrified as this support has been my absolute life-line. I have read all of your guides so at a loss as to how much more information I can give them at this last stage/chance?
Thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Dealing with the practical first.
The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.
Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
An appeal is not always about the claimant providing new evidence, have a look at the following
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/3783-pip-...7-on-last-year-to-71
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/3688-most...enior-tribunal-judge
Decision Makers are not medically trained and often fail to recognise the importance of medial evidence and assessors place far too much emphasis on their observations at the assessment over the information supplied by the claimant in and with their claim form.
