1) If having a face to face, and the medical professional Dr asks did you used to work in the past,

and you say to the health profession,
"yes many years ago (which was before your permenent disability was there) the claimant used to work, but not now"

and you admit this to the health professional,

1a) then could this be used 'against' your claim/points in any way?

Now the claimant does not work, and has Not worked for many years, and will not work due to the severe disability.

1b) but admitting in the past they used to work, could this be used against them in any way/ in the health professions report? to reduce points / or favour LESS need for help?

ie can they put on the report "they can work" or because it is in the past and the disability has now gone severe they would disregard it, as it is in the past where the disability was not as pronounce?

2) In the F2F they ask questions based on the PIP paper questionaire you fill /write and send in (the questionaire)

such as bathing, toilet, dressing, managing budgets, socialising etc.

Then there are questions not really based on these, such as:
Social and occupational history,
do you watch TV
do you do shopping etc,

Can these type of questions 'lose you points' No?

or yes,..and they can, as they are undercover questions to try and get your points down/lower?

3) If after the face to face assessment you want to get a copy of the health assessors report (the one they have sent the DWP), within the 4-6 weeks, then what is the procedure?

4) can the report be requested by the claimant very soon after the appointment but BEFORE a decision was made by the DWP department?

then what is the procedure?

1a - Not directly PIP is not a work-related benefit. We have seen comments about skills a claimant used to exercise being used as reasons to deny that they have problems now but the argument is seriously flawed. So as a silly example, just because you were a postman delivering the mail ten years ago does not mean that you cannot have problems with walking now.

1b - See above

2 - Yes, because they relate back to your capabilities; watching the TV probably means you have good eyesight and hearing, you have attention and can understand what the programme is about implying cognitive capability, shopping means that you can go out and that your walking is unlikely to be restricted, etc.

3 - Contact the DWP office dealing with the claim.

4 - You need to allow a couple of days for the report to be submitted. There is a small window to make comments on the report to the Decision Maker before a Decision is actually made.

When requesting the Medical assessor who did your face to face interview,

when requesting their report from the DWP, how many pages is this assessors report expected to be? (min - max pages? as a range?

It's about 23 pages +2/-1.

There is a sample assessment report in the PIP area if you want to have a look at one.
