Several weeks ago I sent the dwp a letter from my gp which lists all my health problems. The dwp have said they will "vigorously" oppose my claim at tribunal. Do the dwp have to respond to the letter within a certain time or can they leave it until the tribunal? Many thanks.
You must not communicate directly with the DWP about any matter related to your appeal, doing so is the surest way to have your appeal adjourned because the three parties involved in the hearing have different information before them.
Anything you want to be considered must be sent to the Tribunal Service and they will distribute it on to the DWP and Tribunal panel.
Whilst the DWP must review any additional information that you send as part of the appeal, they are not required to respond to it unless they are considering a revision of the current Decision.
