DLA to PIP success was created by Debbie
I had a lifetime award for DLA for personal care and mobility, was asked to apply for PIP so filled in forms and was asked to attend a face to face which I did. then received a decision that I was awarded lower for personal care and nothing for mobility. Asked for a Mandatory reconsideration. Just received MR decision and they have kept it the same as first decision. On top of all this, after applying for the MR I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Now I am very worried. Do I ask for an appeal? also will i be well enough to go through all this and attend an appeal while having my cancer treatment. very stressed and upset right now.

I've moved your post to its own topic, we ask members not to post their questions in other member's topics as it can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.
Yes, you can appeal (see below).
Any appeal cannot take into account your latest diagnosis and any affects it has on your ability to complete the PIP activities, the panel legally, can only consider your problems as they were when the Decision was made.
You do have the option of reporting a Change but they cannot consider any new limitations until you have suffered from them for three months.
The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.
Or, you can submit your appeal request online
www.gov.uk/appeal-benefit-decision/submit-appeal
Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Thank you Gordon. Sorry for incorrectly posting. I was in panic mode and stressing out. After looking through the appeal guide I found it quite daunting but have decided to work through it and go to appeal. Thanks again, Debbie

Hi just to update you.
I decided to go for PIP appeal on line. As I am having Cancer treatment I didn't feel physically or mentally able to attend an appeal so opted for a paper appeal.
Received a letter yesterday from DWP they have completely overturned their decision and now I have FULL PIP for daily living and mobility with an ONGOING award!!
THANK YOU for your help and support through this difficult time.
