No, you would be classed as failing to participate with your file likely being returned to the DWP.
I can't find the link but it was reported that one of the Assessment Providers had told their assessors to read the documentation before the assessment and the other had said to read it after.
Only part of the assessment report is written during the face to face, the recommendation and justification will be written after.
You say you are going to record the assessment, make sure that you are following the required protocols.

Hi Devon idil, thanks so much for writing your experience. May I ask when your f2f was - how recent? It sounds like you were extremely fortunate in getting this nurse. I've had 2 awful assessors for past benefit assessments (a doctor and a nurse) who lied in their reports, and I found their lies and the onus then being on me whilst severely ill to trawl through my evidence disproving their lies for a MR so traumatic.

Gordon, thanks so much for the before/after clarification.
I'm doing what a friend did which was accepted for her f2f: using 2 new cassette recorders with new tapes in, but will keep the tapes unwrapped in their packaging so the assessor can't refuse them. My friend said for her f2f: the assessor was about to refuse the recorders - with them being plugged in - because they hadn't been safety tested at the centre (which is not written in their leaflets!). But thankfully my friend had come armed with batteries just in case so she said, "Not to worry, I have batteries". Obviously with an at home f2f, we can use the recorders plugged in. My friend also said that the assessor gave her a form to sign about the recording, which (I think) she asked a photocopy of.

Gordon, in their leaflet they don't say I need to ask them for "permission" - I simply need to "tell" them in advance I will be recording it...which I have done already.
