If you apply for UC under the exceptional circumstances rule and it is accepted does everyone receive a uc50 if they are unfit for work?

Do you mean the Exceptional Circumstances?

There are two sets of criteria;

1. You are suffering from a severe life-threatening disease

2. There is a substantial risk to you, or others, if you are found not to have a limited capability for work OR limited capability for work-related activity.

Whilst you might avoid an assessment for UC if one of the above is accepted you will still be required to complete and return a UC50.

See our UC/ESA Claim guide for more details.

Thank you Gordon.

The substantial risk to you or others if found not to be LCWRA. Is the one I wish to apply for on behalf of my son.

I am awaiting appointee interview being allocated.
