Hi nata
There will be no face-to-face assessments for the next 3 months from March 17th 20/20, until June 17th 2020.The assessment provider that is due to carry out the assessment should contact you to tell you what will happen next. The assessment will either be a paper based one, or carried out over the phone.
If you are making a fresh claim no award will be made without an assessment.
From March 24th 2020 for 3 months, until June 24th 2020 no reviews will be carried out. So if your condition deteriorates and you think you are entitled to a higher rate of PIP it is very important that you request a review anyway to ensure you receive the maximum arrears when the situation returns to normal.
If your PIP is due to expire you will continue to be paid at your current rate.
I'm afraid the DWP do not have any publically available email addresses, they consider it to be an insecure communication method.
Our advice was that you can take the information to your local JC+ office, they will scan it for you and then email it to the correct office but you will need to make an appointment with them to do this, unfortunately at this moment in time I doubt this will happen. My advice to you is to send any additional supporting evidence to the DWP by recorded delivery, make sure it has your; name, national insurance number and address on each piece of supporting document, also make sure you do not send original documents, only send photocopies.
The address to send it to will be on the correspondance DWP have already sent to you.

I've been sending my additional information, or supporting evidence by email and had reply to say it will be forwarded to the correct Department. To be reassured and not to chase, that they will be in touch.
I don't have a problem with staff reading my paperwork. I feel it's the only way of having a receipt for your evidence- also by taking a photograph and sending via a smart phone you incur no extra costs and have a stamped receipt by automated response in their email reply.
If you search DWP you can find the email for your area.
