PIP was created by NikkiR
Is it correct that the decision to not include the state of your mental health in your PIP award is based on whether you are currently receiving treatment?
I provided a comprehensive list of dates of CBT courses etc. The last one ending Jan 2019.
I have my pain management course through Connect Health on hold due to the Corona Virus which will look at my mental health and provide coping strategies.
The telephone assessor provided incorrect information and we have found several discrepancies which I feel I should point out, but it will probably make no difference.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi NikkiR
It should be considered whether you are currently having 'treatment' or not. Plenty of people are discharged from mental health services and there only contact might be with a GP - and it is still considered. Where people struggle to gain PIP with a mental health problem is if they have no evidence of recent contact with any type of medical services - including a GP and don't take medication and can't even provide a history of treatment. From what you say, you can - so yes it should have been considered.
If your telephone assessment report is inaccurate, you have a small window of opportunity to write in and challenge the findings before the final decision is made. Address to the office dealing with your claim and mark if for the 'Decision Maker'.

Thank you so much. I thought that this would be the case, and I have put together a letter, which hopefully will come back with better news.
I just don't know the HP's get away with using there standard responses and it's clear it is totally different to what discussion has actually taken place. The discrepancies are too much to go through.
For all us genuine cases, it is such a stressful and laborious process. I should have applied for PIP a few years ago, but with a particularly bad experience with the ESA application I kept putting it off. Your mandatory reconsideration document was a godsend then. Hopefully I won't have to go through the battle again.
We appreciate all the hard work you do.
I'll let you know what happens.
Thank you
