Hi N
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I'm not an assessor so I'm unable to tell you whether you can get the enhanced rate. In order to get the enhanced rate for mobility you need to look at the two sets of criteria - the Going Out and Moving Around Activity and gain 12 points in total.
I don't know what distances you cover when you're working as a painter and decorator, but clearly this is going to be taken into account. You would need to show that you don't cover much distance, or your medical condition is such that you can only complete a limited amount of work or it takes you much longer than the other people doing the same job or that your condition has deteriorated so much that you are no longer able to work. Driving is always taken into account because of the amount of strength need to drive a car (steering and braking - even with an automatic).
If you are hoping to score points for the Going Out activity, you would need to show the difficulties you have on the majority of days, including when you have to leave the house to work.
